11 Months and 35 Weeks

It is so hard to believe my little baby Jeremiah will be one year old next month.  Today is his 11-month birthday.  This week I turn 35 weeks pregnant (out of 40 or more or less).  Time is flying by!

Jeremiah is discovering so many new things.  He can say the word "bird" now, which he does...over and over again...even when he's supposed to be sleeping...he can also say another word and it sounds like "what".  We think he's just repeating it back to us because anytime he speaks, we say "what?"  He is crawling like crazy and his newest discovery is pulling himself up to a standing position.  Just today I watched him sit himself back down.  Yesterday was a hard day.  Since this is such a new thing, he spent the day standing.  Even when he was "napping", he was standing and crying because he couldn't get back down.  He took a morning nap and woke up at 10:30 and didn't go back to sleep (other than 2 different 5-minute "naps" in the car) til 8pm.  To say I was exhausted is an understatement.  I spent his morning nap wearing myself out nesting, cleaning, getting the house ready for Keegan's arrival and I was counting on sleeping during his afternoon nap.  That's what I get for making a plan!  He had other plans.  Finally I called my mother so I wouldn't lose my mind and we went to visit her and have supper.  She is a great mom.

The house is baby-proof for the most part and Keegan's bassinet, sheets and blankets are clean and set up for him.  I also washed his baby bath tub and have his carseat ready to be installed.  I packed all I could pack in my hospital bag for me and him.  I am beyond ready to meet him and just giggle at the thought of putting the little booties and hats on him that his Aunt Lacy made.  The small little pacifiers also make my heart happy.  I'm used to seeing Jeremiah's big one so when I pulled out Keegan's, I just giggled with joy.  I have our diaper station ready with sizes 3 and newborn diapers, wipes, and plenty of buttpaste to go 'round.  I have a checklist of things I still need to complete (yes, I am extremely type A...I love to make lists and check them off) so hopefully I have time to complete those.  I have made a few things to put in my freezer for meals after Keegan is born and my wonderful mother-in-love made some stuff as well.  My mom will bring some food as well, as she did last time.  It feels like such a not-quite-so-instant replay of last year, with the addition of Jeremiah.  The point of all of that was to say I am ready for the most part for Keegan's arrival and SO excited to finally meet him and love all over him.

Speaking of Keegan, I should give an update on him since I went to the doctor this morning.  Let me start with saying that I have had a great amount of pain and pressure so I figured something has been happening to my body.  Turns out I am a little dilated (about a fingertip she said) and totally effaced.  Yay!  So glad at least the pain is helping me out.  She also scheduled me for another ultrasound in 2 weeks (I haven't had one since my 18-week one) to check on his growth/size and my fluids.  I am hoping that since it isn't an urgent thing, everything is okay and she is just taking a preventative measure.  I didn't have one this late in my pregnancy with Jeremiah.  At least I'll get to see my boy one more time before he's born!  Brad will be able to attend this appointment with me so I am thankful for that.

I usually don't post prayer requests, but I have a few I'd like to put on here so if you're reading this and don't mind stopping for a second and sending one up for me, I'd really appreciate it.  There are several things going on around Keegan's birthday:

1.  My mom has a stress fracture in her foot.  She is currently wearing a boot so she's a little gimpy.  Pray that her foot heals and she doesn't have to have surgery.
2.  One of my sisters-in-love, Lacy, has a bum knee.  She is currently on crutches and go to see an orthopedist this Thursday to see what's going on.  Pray that she doesn't have to have surgery and that her knee heals.
3.  One of my other sisters-in-love, Maggie, is having surgery at the end of May.  Pray that Keegan doesn't come while his Lollee is busy with Maggie and that everything goes well and Maggie heals nice and quickly.

Brad has FMLA at work so he can take off up to a week to stay home with me, but after that I'm on my own if all of the above people are incapacitated.  I am praying hard and keeping in mind that God's time is perfect and He knows exactly what we need and when we need it.

That's all for now.  I am spending the day resting and recovering from the past 2 days of cleaning and getting things done.  Planning on going outside after a little while and enjoying this wonderful weather!

I will leave you with some pictures of my 11 month old boy.  How I love him so!
