November 2016: Update on Life

Hey yall!  It is a beautiful day with a nice cool temperature here in SC.  Life has been pretty hectic lately.  Turns out I get a lot done when I'm not sitting around on Facebook all day!  It's been a month and 3 days since I've been on and it feels great to change my focus for awhile.  I read two books within the first week of being off.  I have since then found other things to fill my time but am slowly working reading "Bringing Up Boys" by James Dobson.  According to everyone I know, I need to read it.  My boys are such sweeties but they can get pretty wild.  (They are boys, after all!)

Here are some pictures of my loves:

Fishing in the closet

Zoo Days

Western Carolina State Fair

Fall Fest at Shiloh Baptist Church

Halloween

Mud Fun

Outside time with Brett

Playing in the tent with Paw Paw

Getting smarter

Sweet moments do happen <3

These boys keep me on my toes but I have managed to make some yummy meals, one of which I would like to share.  I have fallen in love with spagetti squash, as many people have lately, and I've made this recipe twice in the past two weeks.  It's Buffalo Chicken Spagetti Squash and it is delicious.  A friend posted it to Facebook awhile back (thanks, Allison!).  Here's a pic of how mine turned out:

YUMMMMM

I've also been reading up on different body wash recipes to cut down on the amount of hormone and harsh chemicals I'm putting on my body every day.  I am planning on going completely harsh-chemical free in our home but it is a slow process.  I found this link for homemade body wash and made some.  It smells amazing (I used a lavender-scented Dr. Bronner's soap bar) and is so smooth.  Now I have no excuse to smell bad!  Here are some pics of my process:

I grated my soap bar with my cheese grater for easier melting

The soap took about 3 minutes to melt completely

After sitting for a day and a half, it was a good consistency

The recipe made a ton!

We also painted and redecorated the boy's room but aren't quite finished with it.  It's extremely difficult to paint with kids around, as you can imagine.  That will be another blog post for another day!

I hope you've enjoyed this update.  We are looking forward to going to NC for Thanksgiving to visit my family, especially my dear Maw Maw.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

With love,

Hannah Elise
